STORY
I DESIGNED THE K48 V8 ENGINE TO TEST MY SKILLS AND ABILITIES AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER. I CREATED IT TO BE DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE.
I am Craig Williams, a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for cars. Inspired by the iconic sound of a Ferrari V8 but deterred by the high price tag and reliability issues, I embarked on a journey to build a game-changing engine that could rival the performance of a Ferrari.
Driven by my engineering expertise, I set out to design a V8 engine based on the revered Honda 4-cylinder, known for its exceptional performance and reliability. Using CAD software, I meticulously modeled and designed every aspect of the engine, pushing the boundaries of what was possible.
I went through a staggering 22 major revisions and changes with determination, constantly refining and improving my design. My relentless pursuit of perfection led me to projected 700-750 horsepower and 420-450 lb/ft of torque from a naturally aspirated engine that could redline at a mind-blowing 9.5k-10k RPM – more power than any naturally aspirated Ferrari V8 ever made!
My sights are set on a bigger vision – to introduce the Neutron Engines brand of engine, my brainchild, to a massive community of enthusiasts who have never experienced a publicly available V8 from Honda.
